Father Jorge Sardiña, S.J. was a member of the Colegio de Belén class of 1945. He entered the Society of Jesus on September 8, 1947, and was ordained a priest on June 20, 1959. Fr. Sardiña first arrived at Belen Jesuit in Miami in 1961. When he was asked to describe Belen, he said that only one word came to mind: “Family.” He served as an English and theology teacher, as well as a spiritual counselor for middle-school students, creating a solid foundation in their faith and devotion to God. Fr. Sardiña died in Miami on February 9, 2008. He was posthumously inducted into the Belen Hall of Fame inaugural class.
